It's not uncommon for students to pinch every penny leading up to the holiday season. This year, make it easier on yourself by taking advantage of student discounts from the following retail stores:
Apple – One of Apple’s best selling points, in my opinion, is the discount program it offers to students and teachers. Apple products are always hot items on holiday wishlists, so click here to see student prices for iPods, iPads and more.
Urban Outfitters – Urban Outfitters is a participating member in the Student Advantage card program. Cardholders may present their account numbers for 10% off in savings on clothing and home retail items. You can also use the card online!
Target - Students can collect savings on everything from bedroom sets to electronics with a 10% discount on all online orders, using the Student Advantage card program.
Foot Locker – These shoe and athletic wear stores all offer members of their Student Advantage card program $10 off for every $50 purchased.
J.Crew – This retail chain has the fun, preppy college crowd buying cashmere sweaters, cardigans and trousers. Present your student I.D. card at the register and get 15% off your merchandise.
Sam’s Club – For just $40, students can get a Sam’s Club Collegiate Membership to be used for in-store or online shopping. Students can of course utilize this membership year-round to buy necessities like shampoo and food, but since Sam’s Club sells electronics, jewelry and more, the membership is also great to have during the holiday season. As a bonus, you get a $15 gift card when you sign up or renew your membership.
AT&T – Saving on your cell phone bill or phone purchases might be a top priority with monthly recurring bills. Treat yourself to a new phone while you're out holiday shopping! AT&T offers a student discount of 15% to attendees of qualified colleges. Rumor has it that T-Mobile and Spring also offer student discounts, but I couldn't seem to find proof. Feel free to ask while you're in the store - maybe you'll stumble upon a discount!
