A Guide to College Twitter-ing

Do you Tweet? If you answered “yep, I sure do” and you’re a future or current college student, here are some Twitters you should follow:

  • @USATODAYCollege - Keeps students up-to-date on major current events, posts articles related to academic life and offers internship/job advice. The other day, they tweeted that they're looking for a social media intern - any takers?
  • @HuffPostCollege - This is another great Twitter to follow for news related directly to college students. On top of articles, they also tend to tweet & retweet college facts & advice.
  • @Chegg - In case you haven't heard about Chegg yet, it's an online textbook rental company that allows students to rent books on the cheap. Extra  benefit: Chegg plants a tree for every order they receive! Follow them for all things college.
  • @EatThisNotThat - Scared to gain the daunting "Freshman 15"? Follow the Twitter based on the popular book Eat This Not That.
  • @mycollegeguide - Tweets about some things that new college students need to know about, but don't necessarily think about! Unusual college courses, pet-friendly college campuses, etc.
  • @TheCampusBuzz - Follow for college-related articles that are useful to future students, current students and recent graduates.
  • @Degrees - This is an obvious one! Follow Degrees.com for degree program info, campus life gossip, college news, advice and gift giveaways.

If your reply to my original question was "what's a Tweet?", my first recommendation is get on the Twitter train. Please leave me a comment below if you have more follow recommendations for college students!

Thanks

Thanks for the recommendations, I already followed @EatThisNotThat but I am now following all of them. I love the Campus Buzz one. You should tell everyone to follow their specific college too.

Thanks!
